Cabaret was my first show as an assistant Technical Director. As part of this show, I budgeted and drafted two scenic elements, helped to lead load-in and strike, trained and supervised the fly crew, and helped build other scenery. This show was an opportunity for me to refine my newly learned budgeting and drafting skills within a show's timeline, as well as collaborate with other departments while drafting flying scenery with integrated lighting.

My significant scenic element for Cabaret was the Lighted-Arch, which had integrated lights, a curtain backdrop, and masking all flown on the same line set. This element was my first time drafting for and using the Shopbot CNC machine, as well as the first time integrating lights into a flying scenic element.

The other element I was in charge of was the platforming and decking. This was another opportunity to draft for and use the CNC machine, as well as organize and lead a work call. Although the draftings were rudimentary at the time, they were pivotal to my growth as a Technical Direction student.
